A few people have now asked what this and why it's here.
We do a lot of flying, eating and sleeping in strange cities, mainly for work, but often for fun. This site is merely a record of these events, primarily for our own benefit, but if it helps anyone else make decisions about flying, eating or sleeping, so much the better.
The site started after a disastrous hotel choice made on the basis of TripAdvisor recommendations and numerous visits to grim restaurants suggested by guidebooks.
Online review sites have become forums for the pathologically subjective, it's no longer worthwhile trying to sort the wheat from the chaff. At the other end of the spectrum, I'm not convinced that a career as a professional writer of guidebooks equips you to decide what people with actual jobs want when travelling.
